How Does it Work?
Buzzers use electrical current to complete a circuit. A coil of wire forms part of the circuit and when current is running through it, a magnetic field is generated. This attracts an adjacent metal plate that snaps onto the coil. However, when the coil and the plate are connected, the circuit is broken and current no longer runs through the coil. This removes the magnetic field and the plate is released. The circuit is then complete again and the current begins to run through the coil, and the plate is attracted once more. This rapid and repeated attraction and release creates the 'buzzing' sound.
